RACINE -- Racine County Veterans Services and Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin are partnering to host a Stand Down event at Festival Hall on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We continue to focus on the three primary concerns in the veteran community today: mental health, housing, and food insecurity," said Racine County Veterans Service Officer Shawn Rivers. "At the Stand Down, there will be resources ready to provide on-the-spot assistance with veteran concerns. We are tremendously happy to have Merz Aesthetics US as our sponsor for this year’s Stand Down.”
The event will feature 50 vendors offering community resources such as health and dental care, legal assistance, housing, education, employment, VA benefits, and more. All veterans and their families are encouraged to attend.
"The Stand Down event is important for veterans and their families as they connect with essential resources and interface with local and regional support services," said County Executive Jonathan Delagrave. "Racine County remains committed to supporting its veteran community, and these Stand Down events are crucial to that effort."
